Scuba Diving
Moalboal is known for its scuba diving, and the world famous sardine run can be seen every day of the year just off the beach at Panagsama. This is a natural phenomenon and no, they are not fed to keep them here!
Moalboal and the Philippines are in an area of astounding bio-diversity known as the Coral Triangle, which can fulfil the needs of all divers from beginners to professionals.
Turtles, nudibranch, frogfish, mandarin fish, schools of fish, macro, and if you lucky, a whale shark or even a thresher shark!
Never dived before? Try a half day Discover Scuba (DSD) which involves a few basics in the pool with an instructor, then out into the ocean where you may encounter a turtle.
Want to “get your PADI” and do an Open Water Course to be a certified diver? Allow three days to get your licence which enable you to dive all over the world to a depth of 18 metres. To save time, you can do the e-learning in advance of your trip.
Ready to further your dive education? The Advanced, EFR and Rescue Course or even Dive Master courses will take you to depths of 30 metres, and teach you more about the underwater world.
It's recommended you book in advance, especially during high season. Contact us and we can help with your booking, and answer any questions you may have.

Freediving
If you want to explore the underwater world free from equipment, why not try freediving. You can learn in 2-3 days, or take a taster session to see if it’s right for you.
Learn breath hold and relaxation techniques which help to slow down your heart rate, if you do yoga or meditate, this sport is perfect for you. Freediving is the best way of exploring the ocean with minimal impact.
Sunrise Dolphin Watching Tour
From Panagsama Beach just before sunrise, you will board a Bangka boat (local boat to the Philippines) and search for dolphins in The Tañon Strait. This stretch of water between Cebu and Negros is Marine Protected Area spanning 300km of coastline, and in some parts is as deep as 571 metres. Watch the dolphins playfully jump out of the water whilst the sun rises between the mountains.
An adventure you will surely never forget!

Snorkelling and Island Hopping Tour
An island hopping tour takes you to three top snorkelling spots; the sardines at Panagsama, Pescador Island Marine Sanctuary and Turtle Point in Talisay.
Enjoy the crystal clear waters and watch the colourful fish swimming below you.
Please be a responsible snorkeller and follow these important rules:
- Do not feed the fish, even if you are told you can do so. Bread isn’t part of their natural diet and can be harmful. If fish are eating bread, they aren’t eating the algae growing on the coral which will lead to the coral dying.
- Do not touch or stand on coral. Coral reefs are living animals and are crucial to the ocean’s health. You wouldn’t like it if someone stood on you or grabbed you.
- Do not touch or chase turtles. You will have harmful bacteria on your hands which you will pass on to the turtles. Chasing a turtle will make them stressed. Would you like strangers chasing and touching you?
Canyoneering at Kawasan Falls

For thrill seekers or adrenaline junkies, canyoneering at Kawasan Falls is the highlight of a trip to Moalboal. For your safety, this cannot be done without a guide. They will help you walk up the waterfalls, and tell you when and where you can jump into the beautiful blue waters below. Wearing safety equipment is mandatory, as is a fun-seeking mindset. Jumps range between 4 - 12 metres.
If you are scared of heights, this is not recommended, however if you love adventure – what are you waiting for?
Walking the Waterfall – at Kawasan
If you love waterfalls but canyoneering isn’t your cup of tea, you can still experience Kawasan Falls.
Walk alongside the river to the first waterfall, the prettiest of the three.
Keep on walking up a few steps and along another path to the second waterfall, the largest and a great place to swim.
Want more? The third waterfall is a little more of a challenge to reach and takes about 10-20 minutes, but it’s the most fun! There is a small natural slide, but be sure to wear a pair of shorts/bikini bottoms that you don’t mind ripping. It’s a natural slide and the rock isn’t perfectly smooth.
You can do this on your own, combine it with another waterfall or any activity as part of a tour.

Chasing waterfalls
Kawasan may be the most famous in the area, but with around 90 waterfalls in Cebu, you can literally spend your time chasing waterfalls.
Some of the waterfalls visited include Cambais, Aguinid, Samboan, Dao Falls or my personal favourite; Montpeller Falls where you can swim in the rock pool with no other tourists.
Barili is the home of Mantayupan Falls, Cebu's highest waterfall, and this is a great day trip from Moalboal.
This is an activity you can do yourself, or you can sit back, relax and enjoy as part of a tour.
Osmena Peak Trek
Osmena Peak is the highest point in Cebu at 1,013 meters (3,325 feet) with beautiful views of Moalboal, Tongo, Negros and the jagged hills known as the Mantalongon range.
There are two options to reach the peak.
1. Twin a visit with another activity such as a waterfall. The walk up to the peak is along a rocky path and only takes about 20 minutes from the entrance.
2. If you enjoy hiking and want to see the real Cebu, take the 4 hour trek starting in Badian. You will pass through stunning countryside, vegetable and flower fields, valleys and jungles meeting smiling local people along the way.
It is possible to do this yourself, but it will take around 1.5-2 hours to reach on a scooter. Another option is to take a tour which can include Canyoneering or chasing waterfalls.
Archery
Just around the corner from us within walking distance is Archery Asia. Book an archery course, or just use their target range for a bit of fun.
